Master Highlighting added by a professional highlighting artist can only make each painting more unique and valuable. That’s why we’re hosting another Thomas Kinkade Master Highlighting Event at the gallery on Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25, 10am-6pm!
Come have your newly purchased piece touched up by a Kinkade-trained artisan painter! This will add depth and beauty to the canvas and you’ll get to watch as the masters work! You may also opt to purchase a new painting to have highlighted on the spot.
Thom’s studio reproduces original works in a way that will capture not only the color and mood of the earliest version of the painting but the actual brushwork as well. Vibrant colors, rich textures and color tones accurate to Thom’s original brushstrokes are the hallmarks of your finished piece and all those careful lines and dashes can only be enhanced by another layer of final highlights.
The entire reproduction process begins with what’s called “the capture.” This means that a photographer must capture an absolutely color-correct digital file of the original art. Each painting is captured using a staggeringly high resolution camera. Master colorists painstakingly pour over every square centimeter of the art and the digital image, carefully calibrating the file and then the print. Days, sometimes weeks, are spent reviewing the smallest detail of the image until the result is perfect.
The final reproductions are only made on high quality canvas that will stand the test of time and still allow expert artists to work in Thom’s signature highlights. The company only uses acid free, heavy cotton canvas that is durable and fade-resistant. The surface of the canvases are specially prepared to accept and hold the inks, ultimately allowing them to radiate the brilliant color of Thom’s work to maximum effect. Each painting’s bottom layer is printed one at a time with premium inks. As the ink is laid on the matched and coated canvas, the result is absolutely opaque, rich and brilliant. In addition, the UV properties of the ink ensure a fade resistant, long lasting beautiful image for decades which in many ways makes their particular combination of canvas, ink and paint superior to canvas and paint alone. Last but certainly not least, every piece is carefully hand-retouched with acrylic paint by skilled artisans. Highlighting gives the canvas painterly texture and enhances the signature glow, making whatever print you have almost identical to Thom’s on-easel original.
